Coccoloba diversifolia, commonly known as the pigeonplum, is a hardy, evergreen tree native to coastal regions of Florida, the Caribbean, and Central America, where it thrives in sandy, well-drained soils and shows remarkable tolerance to salt spray and drought. It typically grows with a straight, slender trunk and a rounded to pyramidal crown, reaching heights of 10–15 meters, and is easily recognized by its variable, glossy green leaves that range from oval to elliptic—even on the same plant—hence the species name diversifolia.
